Warning: Pivotal Application Service (PAS) v2.8 is no longer supported because it has reached the End of General Support (EOGS) phase as defined by the Support Lifecycle Policy. To stay up to date with the latest software and security updates, upgrade to a supported version.
The documentation in this section is intended for developers and operators interested in creating Managed Services for Pivotal Application Service (PAS). Managed Services are defined as having been integrated with PAS through APIs, and enable end users to provision reserved resources and credentials on demand. For documentation targeted at end users, such as how to provision services and integrate them with apps, see Services.
To develop Managed Services for PAS, you need a PAS instance to test your service broker with as you are developing it. You must have admin access to your PAS instance to manage service brokers and the services marketplace catalog. For local development, Pivotal recommends using the BOSH guide to deploy your own local instance of PAS using VirtualBox.
Note: To develop service brokers and service tiles for Pivotal Platform, see the Pivotal Platform Tile Developer Guide.
