Services
Page last updated:
The documentation in this section is intended for developers and operators interested in creating Managed Services for VMware Tanzu Application Service for VMs (TAS for VMs). Managed Services are defined as having been integrated with TAS for VMs through APIs, and enable end users to provision reserved resources and credentials on demand. For documentation targeted at end users, such as how to provision services and integrate them with apps, see Services.
To develop Managed Services for TAS for VMs, you need a TAS for VMs instance to test your service broker with as you are developing it. You must have admin access to your TAS for VMs instance to manage service brokers and the services marketplace catalog. For local development, VMware recommends using the BOSH guide to deploy your own local instance of TAS for VMs using VirtualBox.
Note: To develop service brokers and service tiles for Ops Manager, see the Ops Manager Tile Developer Guide.
